I received a heartfelt thanks today from somebody who bought my book back in February -- They said it helped them with their fitness, but just as importantly they say some of the tidbits of wisdom and inspiration have helped them also. They specifically referenced the last few paragraphs of the book. For those who have not gotten a copy, I am pasting that section below for you .............
The Last Words
This section marks the end of our time together. I hope you have found the information in this book to be interesting, entertaining, and educational. More importantly, I hope you have found this to be both an inspiration and an honest roadmap for helping you to improve your level of fitness.
All my life, books have been important. I spent hundred of hours in my youth exploring the aisles of dark, dusty, used bookstores searching for “hidden treasures”. Much of what I learned in life came from countless hours spent reading under a shade tree in the woods or along a river bank.
For the past 50 years, I have been the lucky recipient of the knowledge books are able to give to us. Now, with the writing of this self-help guide, I hope I have made a lasting contribution to the other side of that equation.
My greatest satisfaction would come from knowing this book ends up helping a multitude of individuals improve their fitness as they move thru the second half of their lives.
All of us look back at our lives and experience moments of "Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda” regrets. If you learn from those experiences, then that is the best a mortal person can hope for.
All the days of your life that have come before this moment are like the wake of a boat. As you move forward to new adventures, those waves roll off into the distance behind you. In time, your past becomes only a story. It is today and tomorrow that define the life you are living now.
I hope you will find this book worthy of being a faithful companion as you move forward with the goal of improving your own fitness at 40, 50, 60, and beyond.
Good Luck.
